The Friday lectures are from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the J.P. Callahan Neighborhood Center in downtown Orlando. During these sessions the rules of golf, the 7-Step Method and Dr. Dorsey’s philosophy of play are taught. He and his staff employ a variety of teaching aids that maintain the youth engaged during the sessions.
Beginner students are introduced to the foundational 7-Step Method. This is a successful and repeatable swing method that is then practiced and reinforced during Saturday training. They also learn the rules of the game as well as the philosophy of play which help them with golf and real world situations.
Periodically guest speakers provide great insights to the Friday lectures. After the class sessions the youth and parents relax and socialize with refreshments.
Saturday Training

Boggy Creek Facility – Advanced Training All sessions start with warm-up stretches followed by exercise drills and demonstrations of the techniques to be practiced. Parents/instructors are on-hand to assist students ensuring individual attention.
Orange County National – Combined Training Beginners and advance students meet for a day of training and practice. Both groups then play nine holes at the Tooth Golf Course. Later in the afternoon advance students stay to also play the Crooked Cat Golf Course.
Sunday Play Every Sunday OMYGA students that have been in the program meet at Dubsdread Golf Course in the afternoon for a round of golf. Some of them arrive earlier to play the back 9 holes first and then join the rest of the group to play the front. Students are carefully grouped with players of similar skills. The less experienced groups are accompanied by an experienced parent or instructor. These individuals assist the students by providing encouragement and making sure they apply the skills they learned during the Friday lectures and Saturday practice.
